Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na girl Manjari Fadnis in music video ???

Her ‘What’s That’ act did get her all the attention in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. However, with a blockbuster to her name, Manjari Fadnis is now moving on and looking forward to her upcoming assignments. The first of them which would be unveiled for audiences any time now is a music video for which she shot some time back.

“This is a beautiful ’sufi’ number which is sung by Krishna (of ‘Maula Mere’ - Chak De India and ‘Main Jahaan Rahoon’ - Namastey London) fame. He has cut an album and a music video has been made for one of the songs. It is a good platform for me as I am seen in Indian costumes. Also, since the video revolves around the character I enact, it does give me good visibility”, informs Manjari who made her debut as a school girl in Rok Sako To Rok Lo four years back.
“It seems like such a long time back. However, from here on I believe the journey should get into a fast track mode”, beams Manjari whose next film release would be I Am 24 where she faces the camera along with the likes of Rajat Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Neha Dhupia, Vijay Raaz, “It is a breezy entertainer and the comedy there is first of it’s kinds as well. It was a riot shooting for the film.”

Talking about her newfound success, Manjari goes on to exclaim, “I missed all the euphoria created by Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na on its release. I was stationed in Bangkok and the moment I landed in Mumbai, I could sense people looking at me strangely. Soon a young girl passed by me and said ‘Hi Meghna’ with a sweet smile. This is when I realized that the film and my character (Meghna) had caught on with people. Congratulatory calls have been coming in ever since then which by it’s sheer quantum, to be honest, is a first as I didn’t experience anything like that with Rok Sako To Rok Lo or Mumbai Salsa.

How about her now-famous ‘What’s That’ act? One hears that it is getting popular as well in the campus circuit. “And also the ‘Pappu Dance’”, laughs Manjari, “So what if I couldn’t be a part of the dance sequence, I still had a riot watching it over and over again. I am proud of the film and happy that youngsters have absorbed the flavor of the film so well. Things like ‘What’s That’, ‘Pappu Dance’ and the cool costumes that we all had worn aren’t always made with a thought; they just get made! I am happy that Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na is turning out to be a trendsetter of sorts.”

Ayumi Hamasaki Finished her 10th Anniversary Tour



Ayumi Hamasaki, who had revealed her hearing problem at early part of this year, had finished 10th year anniversary tour of her career as a singer, on Sunday night. She held 17 concerts in 10 cities, including Tokyo, performing over 230,000 fans. She started her tour since April. She suffered stress not only from the hearing defect, but also from the death of a close friend last autumn.

"I appreciate all of you who came to my concerts nationwide. Thank you for a great time."

Now that ABS-CBN's Lobo is nearing its end, what's next for Angel Locsin? This might be the question of Angel Locsin's fans out there, including us.

Angel takes off with high-flying fashion

MANILA, Philippines—Both have had humble beginnings. Angel Locsin started in the industry as a bit player and a virtual unknown. Today she is a star.

Diana Zubiri delves into drama

Diana Zubiri has come a long way since she incited the ire of a Metro Manila mayor by posing half-naked in a public bridge. From a sexy starlet, she is now a true actress—about to conquer the afternoon drama slot by storm.

When iGMA caught up with Diana Zubiri on the set of her show, Babangon Ako at Dudurugin Kita, she was excitedly waiting for her favorite meal—spicy fried chicken from a fast food place. Watching her eat with such relish is enough to make anyone hungry too. While eating, she looks like a kid—complete with oily fingers and a satisfied smile. She paid no mind to her make-up or her dress. How can anyone not love her?

After eating, she quickly cleaned up and donned her professional actor hat, ready to cry, laugh or receive a slap at a moments notice.

Diana has been getting more and more projects as a drama actress these days. And she has not disappointed anyone yet! Does this mean that she is turning her back on sultry roles?

In Babangon, she is the unassuming Julie who, later on, plays a more active role in the fight against the bad guys. Just as she loves the strong sexy characters she has portrayed, she enjoys playing her current role. But it is her next project, Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan that is really giving her a challenge.

“Napanood ko na po. Medyo, na-ppressure ako kasi ang galing ni Ms. Hilda doon eh, siya ‘yung nag-linya ng gaano kadalas ang minsan," she replies when asked if she has seen the film.

“Sana nga ‘di ko na pinanood para kung ano pagawa sa akin ni direk, on the spot, gagawin ko. Siyempre ‘di pa tayo ganun kagaling, naghahasa pa tayo."

She considers this her most tasking project to date. Not just because she will play a character once flawlessly brought to life by the immortal Hilda Koronel, but because Diana knows that playing the wife who willingly gave her husband to another woman requires more than the usual drama.

“Try ko talagang galingan, gusto kong galingan pero ‘di ko mahihigitan iyun," she humbly states but adds, “pero sa generation ko, maganda naman kung masabi ko na maganda ang pagkaka-gawa ko [sa character]."

She continues, “napaka-ganda ng storya. ‘Yun nga po iniiwasan ko--ayaw ko na isipin ng tao na ‘di ko kayang gawin."

Diana promises her loyal fans that she will try her best to give the classic role the dignity it deserves. She is determined to show that she deserves to be called a drama actor.

Marian Rivera - FHM Sexiest Filipina 2008 ???

The tally of FHM's 100 Sexiest this year have the fans of Marian Rivera and Angel Locsin closely anticipating the final result. In the end, Marian (center) won the battle while Angel (left) ranked third, behind Katrina Halili (right).

Marian Rivera's fans have a reason to celebrate. The Dyesebel star is the first non-cover girl to be hailed as the Philippines' Finest by FHM, the biggest-selling men's magazine in the country.

The final results, sent to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) by the FHM group at exactly 6:36 p.m., indicated that Marian won with a total of 316, 135 votes, while Katrina Halili, two-time winner of FHM 100 Sexiest, landed the second spot with 123, 239 votes. Angel Locsin, who won as sexiest Pinay in 2005, came in third with 121, 388 votes.

FHM Philippines editor-in-chief Alan Madrilejos revealed to PEP that Marian Rivera enjoyed a considerably large lead in terms of online and text votes, while Katrina Halili topped the ballot-voting category. Meanwhile, this year's global winner is Megan Fox.

The July issue of FHM will reveal the complete and official list of FHM 100 Sexiest.

MARIAN VERSUS ANGEL. One interesting twist to this year's poll is the rivalry between Marian and Angel.

Fans of the two beautiful ladies united to give 100 percent support to their respective idols. Angel's fans abroad claimed that they spent money on text just so they can send their votes. Marian's fans, on the other hand, spent so many hours in front of the Internet to make sure that their Kapuso bet would reign supreme in the online-voting category.

Fans of the two women have been rooting and ranting in PEP's FHM-related articles in the closing weeks of the tally, while waiting for the FHM Sexiest vote results. Their aggressiveness showed through the comments and the consistent arguments between the two escalated, even to the point of questioning FHM's voting system.

Even PEP's own conducted poll, "Sino sa tingin mo ang tatanghaling sexiest Pinay ng ‘FHM'?" drew fire from the fans as they carefully monitored and analyzed the results nearly every day. For them, percentage matters and .01 percent lead is a great deal especially if it means victory for their idol.

Now that the results are finally revealed, will this clash between the Marian and Angel fans also come to an end?

This is only one issue, of course, and many more will arise for the fans to rally again in support their most loved idols.

That is the story of the day. Allegedly, the GMA talents came victorious because of an enthusiastic campaign from the GMA management itself. Employees and talents alike were given 300 pesos load to vote for Marian Rivera, as reported in by several movie columnists.

Saif Ali Khan romances Kareena Kapoor

Saif Ali Khan will romance real life ladylove Kareena Kapoor in a new Karan Johar production.

The couple has been signed on by Rensil D’ Silva of Rang De Basanthi fame who will direct this movie. Saif and Bebo will pair for the first time in a Karan Johar movie.

But this movie is not the bubbly romance with foreign locales that Johar has perfected. It will be a dark gritty drama with Saif as a terrorist. Kareena will play his ladylove.

This movie is going to be an interesting watch as Karan Johar makes a U-turn from his usual lavish set, dances filled romantic comedies.

Saif Ali Khan, who is known to play rather typical characters like Sameer in Dil Chahta Hai, Karan Singh Rathod in Ek Haseena Thi, Cyrus Mistry in Being Cyrus and Langda Tyagi in Omkara, is again ready to play a hatke role.He will play a terrorist in Karan Johar’s next production. The untitled film will be directed by Rang De Basanti writer, Rensil D’Silva.

Says a source close to the film, “The story is a far cry from the usual Karan’s films. There will be no designer glam sham or naach gaana. It is a hard-hitting subject. Karan loved Rensil’s script so much that he decided to produce it. He also gave Rensil the freedom to choose the actors to justify his script. That’s how Rensil decided to cast Saif. He plays a meticulous and urban-educated terrorist. There is also an interesting romantic track between him and the leading lady, Kareena,” adds the source.

Cheska Garcia excited on her wedding ???

Filipina celebrity model and host-actress Cheska Garcia is pretty excited on her upcoming wedding with Doug Kramer, all was been set-up properly including the date (October 9, 2008).



The event would be strictly with family and friends, she mean closed - selecting sponsors with about 16 ninongs and ninangs.

Song Hye Kyo will be in "1949" Chinese Film ???

Song Hye Kyo went to Shanghai, China on tuesday, June 24th for brand promotion and updated the media on details of her latest work, a cooperation with famed Hong Kong director John Woo in the movie "1949."

On the interview, "I have been learning the Chinese language, as well as Chinese history, since I signed the movie contract," Song said. "Chinese audiences will only accept my performance if I have adequate knowledge about their country."

This is the first move the South Korean actress has made toward her goal of entering the Chinese entertainment world, the Oriental Morning Post reported.

Rumors have abounded that the actress is planning to join the Chinese company that has groomed stars like Michelle Yeoh.

Song Hye Kyo will co-star with Hong Kong actor Chen Chang in "1949".

"He is a charming person, and I look forward to our cooperation," Song Hye Kyo said of her partner-to be. The two stars met at this year's Cannes Film Festival in May.

Diana Zubiri disappointed ???

MANILA, Philippines - Diana Zubiri said she was disappointed when GMA 7 pulled out her best friend, Sunshine Dizon, from the cast of the TV adaptation of Danny Zialcita’s “Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan.”

“We were so happy to hear we’d be working together. It’s been a long time since ‘Encantadia,’” Diana told some writers on Friday at the Mandarin Suites in Quezon City. “But Sunshine was already in the hospital then.”

Lilybeth Rasonable, GMA 7 assistant VP for Drama, said Sunshine suffered from migraine. The network decided to replace her because “she couldn’t work anymore” under medication, which she needed constantly. “We asked her to get well first,” Rasonable told Inquirer.

Sunshine was replaced by Camille Prats—making a comeback after delivering her first child—in the role of Lily, the character portrayed by Vilma Santos in the screen version.

Diana said she had not spoken with Sunshine since work on the show started. “The subject is kind of sensitive,” the actress said, refusing to elaborate.

Diana plays Elsa, the embattled character portrayed by Hilda Koronel. To prepare for the role, Diana watched the 1982 movie, produced by Viva Films. She said, “Miss Hilda was good. I really felt her character’s pain. I don’t think I can survive what Elsa went through.”

Diana is teamed up with Marvin Agustin as Louie, earlier played by the late Dindo Fernando. “We have several love scenes,” she said. “In the beginning, it felt awkward. We had to shoot one bed scene four times because he couldn’t stop giggling.”

Could Diana ever fall for a guy like Marvin? “He’s okay. But I can no longer go for men who have kids, like my previous boyfriend—it was sort of traumatic,” she said. She was apparently referring to comedian Vhong Navarro. Marvin has twins, now 3, with ex-girlfriend Tetet Dy. “I deserve my partner’s full attention,” Diana said.

“Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan,” directed by Gil Tejada Jr., also stars Sandy Andolong, Biboy Ramirez, Victor Aliwalas and Maybelyn de la Cruz. It premieres at 4 p.m. today.

Angel Locsin stays on top ???

It's a feat that Angel Locsin has managed to stay on top in a business where the turnover rate is high.

Angel knows how it feels to be number one. Well, many times over. She was FHM Philippines' sexiest woman. For this year, Maxim Philippines picked her as the sexiest woman in the country.

"We really can’t control the result. We can’t dictate the winner or who the people will vote for...kailangan ko bang kunin ang lahat? Happy ako at pinagtitiwalaan ako at naniniwala sa akin ang mga tao...those who have voted for me, maraming salamat sa mga boto ninyo...isipin na rin natin na nag-iiba na ang times. Mas importante sa akin na mas maraming naniniwalang mga tao sa akin," the actress related.

Angel remains as one of the sough-after image model of products. Just recently, she was chosen as the new face of Folded and Hung.

F&H’s president Ronald Pineda believes that Angel is the number one celebrity endorser.

"Grabe ang sexy niya talaga," said Ronald looking at the three larger than life photos of Angel wearing a pair of jeans and nothing on top. "She captures all the market from A, B and C. She’s a leading lady. She has classy beauty and she’s a perfect endorser...pagkumukuha kami ng endorser, we want someone who can communicate to both men and women. Si Angel, kaya niya ito."

Pitching for the clothes, Angel said F&H apparel perfectly fits her lifestyle as they have clothes for all occasions. More importantly, their clothes are affordable.

She shared what convinced her to pose topless, wearing only F&H jeans in her billboard. "Na-challenge ako kasi hindi ko naman ginagawa yun...of course I was tensed when they told me about it. Pero biglaan kasi rin yun and when it was explained sa akin na ang jeans naman yung binebenta sa layout na ito, I agreed with their concept," said Angel.

She also clarified the nasty rumor that she "snatched" the F&H endorsement from Claudine Barretto.

Pineda, meantime, why chose a single celebrity to endorse the clothign line: "I also want to protect their image. At the same time gusto ko they would feel that they are being taken care of. May superstar feeling pag solo...kuha niya ang limelight talaga at ang lakas ng communication kapag mag-isa lang talaga!"

As her TV series with Piolo Pascual entitled "Lobo" ends its run soon, the actress is faced with another intrigue: That she's getting along well with Piolo because of some scenes in the last few episodes.

"Paano nangyari yun na may issue ng agawan eksena? Masaya na matatapos na kami kasi maraming revelations na mangyayari. Nagkasama kami sa ‘E Live’ and

‘Wowowee.’ Basta hindi ko na kailangang sagutin, manuod na lang kayo ng ‘Lobo and be the judge. Basta kami, we worked very hard kasi mahihirap ang mga eksena namin," she said.

After her last taping for "Lobo," Angel is scheduled to fly to Bangkok for another project.

Angel Locsin & Marian Rivera - Who’s FHM’s sexiest woman?

The FHM search for the country’s sexiest woman has never been this hot. The voting ended last Sunday but the winner will be announced in June. It’s said that Marian Rivera is the top favorite in the online voting, with Katrina Halili and Angel Locsin following her.

Obviously, this displeased Angel’s fans and her camp issued some negative remarks about Marian. In return, we got this letter from a group of Marian fans called “MarianKnights” about the issue.

“This is in response to the PROs of Angel Locsin who allege that a GMA insider revealed that GMA-7 supported Marian by giving away P300 worth of load to vote for Marian. Who is that insider? The PROs should name names.

To begin with, FHM said they have so far only partial and unofficial results. We think the PROs should wait until the official results are issued before they say GMA is doing an inside job to make Marian win. What if it is Angel who’d win? We don’t know yet, right?

“As for us ‘MarianKnights,’ we did our best to support Marian Rivera. Our fan club never questioned that two weeks ago, it was Katrina Halili who was leading the polls and Marian was only second in the unofficial tally. Instead, what did we do? International members of our fans club sponsoring the Philippine chapter sent remittances to buy the loads to text FHM and we can show you proofs of these remittances to demonstrate that it’s Marian’s legions of fans all over the world who supported her, not GMA. Well, all we can say is that we don’t know how FHM will react to this. Their sexiest woman search has turned into a popularity contest for movie stars similar to those conducted by other fan magazines. Marian has not even done a sexy pictorial and yet she’s being voted to win in FHM’s sexiest woman search. Maybe they should change their criteria about who’s eligible and who’s not. Actually, this has become a personal duel between Marian’s and Angel’s fans. Katrina’s fans, strangely, remain very quiet.
