Marian Rivera Singing ???

Looks like Marian Rivera will now try a singing career this time. MARIAN Rivera now has a new dance album where she sings the latest hit song "Sabay-Sabay Tayo."

Here's Marian singing that song in a mall show at the Glorietta, Makati City, last December 27.

After those photos were taken, the sound system inside the mall malfunctioned and Marian's song number was cut off. But she still smiled and waved to her fans.

The scene-stealers of volatile, joyous 2008

MARIAN RIVERA (Controversy Magnet)

Whatever Marian Rivera says or does surely elicits people's reaction—positive or negative—simply because she is the hottest star in showbiz today. Proof is the page views and comments that articles about Marian get here in PEP. In our list of 100 Most Viewed articles, more than 10 are stories about Marian.

Marian made the headlines this year for several reasons: a video of her confrontation with a fan; admitting that she is a "jologs"; pregnancy rumor; and her crying over Karylle's "mysterious smile."

This year can be also considered a banner year for Marian's showbiz career. She continued to reign supreme in primetime television, thanks to Marimar and Dyesebel. She was also able to do four movies this year: My Best Friend's Girlfriend, One True Love, Desperadas 2, and Shake, Rattle & Roll X. And to date, she already has 24 endorsements tucked under her belt.

DINGDONG DANTES (Sexiest Man)

Marian Rivera's screen partner Dingdong Dantes had his share of shining moments this year.

Dingdong established himself as one of the most sought-after young actors in the industry. After taking a risk by shedding off his wholesome image and his clothes, he captured the public's wild imagination.

When he first appeared in the Bench denim and underwear fashion show last July, Dingdong drew the loudest cheers and applause from the audience. Unknown to Dingdong, it was just the start of better things to come.

Later this year, Dingdong ranked No. 3 in E! Television's list of Top 25 Sexiest Men of the World, behind UK soccer superstar David Beckham and Argentinean actor Michael Gurfi. He became the first Filipino to be included in the Sexiest List of E! and the highest-rankled Asian this year.

His recent breakup with singer-actress Karylle was the one of the hottest issues in showbiz this year, of course. The breakup ignited several other issues including his rumored romance with Marian and the rift between Marian and Karylle.

All these made Dingdong the hottest male star in 2008.

Marian Rivera - Shake, Rattle, and Roll 10

Amidst the controversy that Marian Rivera is pregnant, we'd like to cool it off with her upcoming movie Shake, Rattle and Roll 10. Last night she denied that she's pregnant and since we believe her, we'll close it with that for now hoping that she's really not. She has a very wonderful career and it will be completely wasted if any of the said rumors are true.

Anyway, Marian Rivera plays the role of Nieves in the upcoming Shake, Rattle and Roll 10 as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2008. Its amazing that Shake, Rattle and Roll reached its 10th sequel. Wanna know why? Our educated guess tells us that the producer doesn't want to think of titles every year that's why they just simply add a digit at the end.

Marian launches as Phoenix Maiden

POPULAR Kapuso star Marian Rivera was formally launched yesterday as the Phoenix Maiden of the Davao-based Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. at the Apo View Hotel.

With the company’s top executives, the Marimar and Dyesebel star signed up the contract as the lead female endorser. She is an addition to the list of growing celebrities who endorse the company which started in Davao in 2002. Manny Pacquiao is the other personality who promotes the product.

“Marian Rivera is the Phoenix Maiden. Like the phoenix of folklore, Phoenix Petroleum is ready to take the next big step, ever prepared to take bigger challenges, and more ready to fly higher,” President and CEO Dennis Uy said on the company’s Bold Energy Marketing Campaign.

Uy said Marian, a household name due to the huge successes of TV series Marimar and Dyesebel, ably reflects the strength and ambition of Phoenix Petroleum.

He said Phoenix and Marian share a common trait of boldness, drive and passion for excellence and success.
In Phoenix’s aims for a bigger aspiration, Uy said that the company needs popular celebrities like Marian and Manny “to reach out to more motorists in the country and let them experience Phoenix Petroleum.”
“With Phoenix Maiden Marian Rivera with us, and in tandem with world champion Manny Pacquiao, Phoenix Petroleum is confident in its future,” Uy said. “I am very confident that Phoenix Petroleum’s relationship with Marian will go along way.”

Marian said she did not immediately agree to accept the Phoenix’s offer, “At first I thought they wanted me to pose as a calendar girl in a sexy bikini riding a white horse, or as a carnival queen, or to be a superhero like Darna,” she said.

But she accepted the deal when she was informed about the company’s background and its objective and the idea, the essence and duties of a Phoenix Maiden. “I learned that Phoenix Petroleum is a young and successful company from Davao City. It is prudently managed, and has a good range of directions, strategies and core values, and has a carefully thought out master plan for growth and success,” she said.

“Like Marimar, a dream was realized at Phoenix Petroleum. And like Dyesebel, I found happiness and contentment in what I do. Today, I formally accepted to become a kapuso of Phoenix Petroleum, your Phoenix Maiden,” she said before signing the contract. Starting with one Phoenix station in Digos City in June 2005, Phoenix now has 85 stations, including one in Metro Manila. The company continues to expand in Mindanao, and hopefully around the country.
